Wow how time flies – loving life

Sun ,04/09/2011

It is amazing all fast time flies. I was just thinking today that I needed to get on here and blog some. It is amazing that the last  time I blogged I was heading to Bogota. Well I am off to Bogota again I actually misspoke before. Bogota, Colombia is at 9600 feet which is an amazing altitude to train at. It is perfect timing as we have the 2011 Mike Lee Kanarek Boot Camp coming up.

While I am down there I will be training at Cross Fit Bogota. It is truly a great group of people and while I am down there I will be putting on a few FIGHT classes. Geoffrey Tudisco and his team do a great job and provide an awesome atmosphere for training. When I am not at cross fit I will be training near our condo down there using the stairs, streets, or mountains as my personal training ground.

My focus right now is to work to build my cardio for my upcoming test at that start of next year.

The great thing about Colombia is the food is fresh and organic. The fruits and vegetables are so rich in nutrients and flavor  I love it. It helps with the nutritional choices that occur during the day. The only thing is watching the amount of food intake.

Time does fly. I look at the picture above and I actually look skinny. The last couple years the combination of Combat Fitness, American Kickboxing/Muay Thai, and FIGHT I have  help physically change me. I have mentally changed too thanks to the MC philosophies. MorningCoach.com has been growing at a spectacular rate and I have been able to help so many people. Which to me is super cool. Over the next few months we will be working on bringing more video to the site and I will be doing my first Intelligent Life Design event in New York on November 12, 2011. It is going to be an amazing event and I am honored to have Mike Lee Kanarek as a special guest.

The next few months are going to be amazing. Boot camp is coming up, lots of travel down south, goals to hit and time to prepare fo the test that will be coming up soon.

I will be blogging more as the time gets closer so stay tuned.

All the best!
JB

The Next 9 Months!

Tue ,22/03/2011

The nine month plan. It is time to really go after it. This week I head to Bogota Colombia for 1 month. Through the month of April I will be training at 8200 feet. I will be doing cross fit at the highest altitude cross fit in the world. My goal it to get massive cardio out of this trip as well as help my Spanish.

I am going to look for some personal training while I am there to work on striking. It should be an amazing trip.

I will also be doing Garett Machines workout from his DVD Israeli Combat Fitness you can find it here. I like how Garett discusses there are no “days off” in his system. If you live and work hard at what you do “days off” will naturally occur.

You can find out more about Garett’s DVD by clicking here

When I get home from Colombia it will be back to FIGHT classes three times a week, combat fitness in the mornings and privates with Mike Lee Kanarek.

I am looking forward to training at the new HaganaH HQ. It is going to be an amazing facility with John Clarke rocking the matt with Combat Wrestling and bringing some amazing tactical skills. The energy in the place is going to be amazing.

I am going to be blogging starting next week in Bogota my workouts and supplementation. It is not easy to keep with the blog but in Colombia I will have some time to go over post workout.

It is going to be a blast! Next time I will be writing you from Bogota, Colombia!

Buenos Dias!!

2010 Boot Camp Finished on to 2011

Mon ,27/12/2010

Just wrapped up the annual MLK boot camp and it was an amazing one. I have yet to get my body fat but I am up to 165 Lb’s and that is a good thing. We really hit it hard with workouts beginning at 6AM on Tuesday and Thursdays and at 9AM on Saturdays. We also sandwiched Combat Fitness workouts at 7:30 PM at night on Tuesdays and Thursdays so it was like old two a days in football.

SandyOne of the main exercises this year was suplexing Sandy. On the final day Sandy gave out from all the abuse. The 90 lbs of rice, sand and whatever was in it just gave way. It was an ending ritual of the boot camp.

As you can see by the picture Sandy’s career as a sand bag is over.

On of my favorite rituals was the post workout shake. This years chosen shake was After Glow. I have to tell you After Glow rocks. I love  the flavor and the recoveryAfterglow time is amazing. As you can see by this picture I was getting my fix after every workout. 2010 is almost over and we are moving into my third year in the MLK system and it just has been an amazing ride. This year will hold many new ideas and activities.  I am looking forward to a new venture that I am doing with John Clarke and Larry Cott that I will be announcing the start of the year. I am really pumped to move into the martial arts area as a business and I can think of no better people to do it with. With MLK’s support  in this venture 2011 is going to be an amazing year.

I will have more updates soon as the MLK annual HaganaH conference is in Vegas again this year so I will be heading out in the middle of January! It is going to be an amazing year!!!

Annual HaganaH Convention Will You Be There?

Boot camp has arrived! Started at 6AM with a 300 workout!

Tue ,12/10/2010

Awesome way to start the AM! Boot camp with Mike Lee Kanarek.

This year we have a great group and as usual MLK has mixed up given us our diet plans and instructions. Tuesday and Thursdays we are going 2 times a day. Two a days! This really puts a stain on nutritional requirement. My goal eat enough! No really I am trying to maintain 160 and continue down on the body fat. Looking to drop from the 7% I am at to that mystical 5.5%. It is really tough at this point and the diet needs to be spot on.

We started today with a 300 workout that really hit all body parts. Everyone survived but no one could hit everything on que. We all had to take a break in some of the sets. But it was bad ass. Great way to start the morning. I have to tell you though at 5AM in the shower I am thinking, “what the hell did I get myself into?” But, as always once we got going it was great. I did feel my legs in some parts and got real winded like at altitude. I guess the leg work was gassing me, combined with the fact that I am not used to working out at 6AM. After 12 weeks of this it should be no problem!

Business is going amazing. I am redoing both of my mine website and we are working on a total rebrand. It makes it so much fun to learn new things like Pay Per Click Marketing and Search Engine Optimization. I am really getting an education in both.

Life continues to move forward. I promise more updates as I continue to progress. Just loving it all right now!

Thank You,

Been awhile!!!

Wow it is amazing how fast time goes. Nothing like a blog update to see that. Well I have been on goal rocking and rolling. Over the last month I have done Ground Survival Certification and Israeli Knife Certifications. Those where amazing and a lot of work. Mike Lee Kanarek has been in rare form training and working us out.

I also had the opportunity two weeks ago to participate in an EEMOON KRAV MAGA AGRESSEEVEE training with three operatives from the Israeli Special forces specifically the divisions of Duvdevan and Sayeret Nachal. These guys where warriors and took us through hell. It was an amazing once in a lifetime experience and I am so glad that I went through it.

I am now working with Billy Beck III to drop down a few more percentages of body fat. I am currently at 8%. Still have a ways to go and this week I started on a VERY strict 2400 a day calorie diet with each daily meal planned out.

Combat Fitness is going great and I am getting stronger everyday as well as the FIGHT program here at HaganaH Headquarters. I am looking forward next month to taking my Muay Thai level I instructor certification with Master Hung Tran at HaganaH East. Then it will be Combat Wrestling with John Clarke. If you have a chance to go by and see John and his team at HanganH East do! I try to make it as much as possible.

Overall it has been an AMAZING last few months. Mike Lee Kanarek’s Annual Boot Camp starts next month and it is an honor to participate in that with 9 other warriors! I am feeling amazing and just need to get my ass in front of the CPU and give more updates!

Thank you for sticking with me on this journey. Everyday I move forward and my fitness level is just out of the world!!

Rock on!!

Taking home the gold!

Mon ,12/07/2010

JB GlossingerI am back in Colombia again loving life but I wanted to do a quick post on the 4th of July. I was home in LaPorte Indiana and decided to run in our 5K. I did not train for the running just decided to run. The cool thing was I finished in 21:06. Did not hit my goal of 20:00 minutes but I did finish 11th overall and won the over 41 division. I also beat everyone over 30 so that was cool!

Will fill you in as we progress here in Bogota!

My first experience with a Glock -17

Tue ,29/06/2010

Last friday I picked up a Glock -17 for the first time. I normally would not make a big deal out of the first time I touched a handgun but as a pursue my Black belt in HaganaH one of the things we have to do is be able to handle a hand gun.

Well my instructor Mike Lee Kanarek called and said he had an opening in the new course they have set up featuring the latest Lotar techniques from Israel. Of course my first thought was no. But, I SUB’d and decided to go.

When we got to the class we where introduced to Garett who is fresh from the Duvdevan Unit out of Israel and we went right to safety then to drilling. Of course being so new my head was into safety long after we where into drilling but I just kept listening to the instructions given and hide my nervousness. Which I did not do very good. I managed to stay safe and get through the tactical and the movement part of the class. I have to say it was some of the most intense learning i have ever done.

I have done some learning to, I have an MBA and a PhD so I have been through many types of teaching. Garret did an amazing job, his curriculum was tight and his teaching style exceptional.

As we kept moving forward I started to gain some confidence and then we where off to the range. This is where my nerves really kicked in. I mean I have never handled a Glock let alone shoot one. All my exposure was that morning. Now I have gun experience as I have shot clays with a 12 gauge before so I understand the gun goes “BOOM” but I was till intimidated. Everyone in the class had some pretty good experience.

We got to the range and Garett got us going right away. He was right in my ear the whole time and for the first hour I was like what the hell am I doing here. But, I stuck with my thoughts of just listen and follow orders. As the day went one I got more comfortable with the gun and the mechanics. Actually, doing a lot better, thanks to Garrets patience and the functional fixing of my rookie breakdowns.

By the end of the day I was doing really good with changing the magazines and understanding the tactics. My only real issue was with jams. I just needed more dry practice. Fixing a jam under stress is difficult and I know understand why the repetition is needed.

Overall the course was amazing. I know what I need to work on thanks to Garret. I know the basics of the system and of concealment. I am VERY comfortable with the Glock -17 so much so I ordered my first one today. Amazing class with an amazing teacher. I still have a ways to go. But I have a toolbox that is amazing and I can think of no better way to start my handgun training then with the best. I am sticking with this system and just working it every week. So much so, I can’t wait to show the group my progress!

Also, I am still hitting 2 a days on training and am probably at around 8% BF, we will be doing testing next week and I will post where I am at.

Reebock Zig vs Nike Free 5.0

Sat ,08/05/2010

Reebock ZigIt has been awhile since I did a review and I thought I would do it on my shoes. I bought a pair of red and black Reebock Zigs a few weeks ago before my HaganaH Certification at headquarters with Mike Lee Kanarek. I really liked them at first they felt real comfortable and felt like a great shoe.  I got up to head out to the second day of training and I noticed something wrong with the bottoms. As you can see by the picture a small piece was coming off. When we got our lunch break I ran over to Foot Locker to exchange them for another pair. The only issue was in the size 8.5 they only had the orange and silver. I had to grab them and get back to working out.

After getting ribbed for the colors I made it through the certification and have had them for 2 weeks. I have to give them thumbs down. The initial comfort is not there. I guess they are good for straight line running, but they just don’t get the job done with all the training I do.

Reebok Zig

Nike Air Free vs Reebok Zig

I have had a pair of Nike Free 5.0′s for over 3 months, in fact this is my third pair that I just love. The only issue with them is I had to change the insoles. The ones that come with the shoe are brutal. I love the feel of these shoes and the weight and the actually torque ok on the mat. I would not run more then 5K in them though as they are designed to feel as you are in your bare feet. I leave long running to ASICS and other running brand shoes.

I am going to be looking at some new cross trainging running shoes this week and will report back.

I am also buying some new gloves and some new King shin guards I will review in the upcoming weeks!

Been a great couple weeks. Then next 4 Billy Beck has really got me on an aggressive plan to gain lean muscle and drop down to 5.5% body fat. I was at 9.5% Friday. I have a big speaking event next weekend, but other then that ready to train!

Have a great weekend!

HaganaH Instructor Certification Complete

Tue ,27/04/2010

JB Glossinger Mike Lee KanarekWell one and half years of hard work have really paid off. Last Thursday – Sunday I went through a very intensive HaganaH Instructor Certification. Training for the last year and half at the HaganaH headquarters with Mike Lee Kanarek really paid off. I felt amazing and had a great weekend. I am also very thankful to all the other students who where just amazing.

Another special thank you goes out to Chris Kisslen who is an instructor and black belt in the system who stayed the entire event and helped us all. Obviously, I want to thank Mike Lee Kanarek for putting this whole thing together.

Amazing week – now I am on to getting better with Tactical Knife, Ground Survival and Ground Wrestling, and Tactical shooting. Along with that a weight gain of about 5 more lbs and a body fat percentage drop to 6%. Then next 6 months are going to be amazing!

I will keep you informed on my progress!

I wanted to include a new video on dedication here:
